Kingaroy police are investigating the theft of a white 1993 Toyota LandCruiser ute from a property on Harris Road in Kingaroy last week.

The vehicle, registration 994-RNV, was reported missing on August 2.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said the vehicle has a toolbox in the rear tray.

It was stolen from a carport with the keys having been left in the vehicle.

Police are also investigating recent thefts of number plates.

Plates “AMZ-248” were stolen from a Toyota hatchback parked at a Kingaroy shopping centre on August 2, and plates “QGR-13” were stolen from a Toyota sedan at Kingaroy Hospital on August 4.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle traffic crash on the corner of King and John streets, Kingaroy, on Saturday morning.

About 11:00am, a Toyota was travelling up John St when the driver, a 54-year-old Brighton man, allegedly failed to give way to Nissan, being driven by a 75-year-old Kinleymore woman, which was travelling along King Street.

A passenger in the Nissan was treated at the scene for minor cut to her knee. The driver of the Toyota was issued with infringement notice for failing to give way ($431 and three demerit points).

Traffic

  • A 54-year-old Tinbeerwah man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 1 charged with drug-driving, possessing tainted property, driving while disqualified and driving an unregistered vehicle. Police stopped the man’s Nissan sedan on Avoca Street, Kingaroy, at 10:30am on August 2. They will allege the vehicle had plates attached that did not belong to the vehicle.
  • A 38-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 1 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped his Ford stationwagon on Murray Parade, Kingaroy, at 3:20pm on August 2.
  • A 23-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in  Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 18 charged with driving over the no alcohol limit after he allegedly blew 0.045 BAC when a Nissan sedan was pulled over by police on West Street, Kingaroy.
  • At 4:45pm on August 5, police intercepted a 49-year-old Nanango woman on Poinciana Avenue, Kingaroy, driving a Nissan hatchback. She allegedly tested positive at a roadside drug test. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 29.
  • An 18-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 18 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped a Toyota hatchback on Somerset Street, Kingaroy, at 3:40pm on August 5.
  • A 31-year-old Wondai man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 1 charged with drug-driving after police pulled over a Nissan ute on River Road, Kingaroy, at 11:55am on August 6.
  • A 21-year-old Kingaroy woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 1 charged with unlicensed driving after police stopped a Holden sedan on King Street, Kingaroy, at 1:20pm on August 6.
