Women’s rugby league is soaring in the South Burnett with all three teams charging towards the Grand Finals of the Wide Bay Female competition.

The Open women’s team took on Bundaberg at Torbanlea on Sunday in the Major Semi-Final, downing them 18-12 after leading 12-4 at half-time and earning the first berth in the Grand Final.

The women now have a week off to prepare for the big game.

Meanwhile, the Eagles’ Under 14s team annihilated Bundaberg in the Minor Semi-Final 56-4, also played at Torbanlea.

The U14s will now take on the Fraser Coast Crushers on Sunday at Tannum Sands in the Preliminary Final and a chance for a Grand Final spot.

The Eagles’ Under 17s, who had a bye last weekend, are also playing a Preliminary Final on Sunday against Fraser Coast at the same venue.

UPDATE August 8: Both the U14s and U17s had wins on Sunday, meaning all three South Burnett Eagles female teams will be playing in Grand Finals next Saturday!
