South Burnett Thrashers have planned a huge day of celebrations for their “Old Boys Day” in Kingaroy this Saturday.

The on-field rugby action will kick off at 12:30pm at T.J. O’Neill Oval with an Old Boys game between the Thrashers Old Boys and Wests Bullfrogs.

Fans will get the opportunity to meet visiting Queensland Reds players Liam Wright, Zane Nonggorr, Josh Nasser and Angus Blyth and former Wallabies Bill Ross and Guy Shepherdson.

(And pose with a photo with Rusty the Koala!)

The Reds players will also be presenting the Thrashers with a scrum machine, which is coming to the South Burnett courtesy of Westpac and the Gympie Hammers.

The regular Darling Downs fixtures game will then kick off at 2:00pm.

The Thrashers, sitting in third spot on the C Grade ladder in their first year back in the competition, will be taking on the Chinchilla River Rats who are in sixth spot.

The celebrations, which coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Thrashers, will continue on Saturday evening with an Old Boys Dinner with guest speakers and an auction of autographed jerseys.

Tickets are $50 which are available from the Kingaroy Hotel.
