June 17, 2022

Aussie Rules fans – especially all former Kingaroy Bulldogs – should head on down to Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday to celebrate 10 years since the formation of the South Burnett Saints.

The club launched a local nine-a-side competition in 2012 before entering an enlarged Darling Downs competition alongside the Dalby Swans in 2013.

The special Heritage Day on Saturday will see the Saints’ men’s and women’s teams taking on the Toowoomba Tigers.

The women’s game will start at 12:30pm, followed by the men at 2:30pm.

As well as the footy action, there will be entertainment by Mr Q, the announcement of the the Team of the Decade, auctions and raffles.

A $20 cover charge from noon will cover unlimited food and drinks (until they run out).

Editor’s note: The South Burnett Saints were formed the same year that South Burnett Online was relaunched as an online newspaper. We have been covering the local AFL since then. Our 11 pages of archived news stories can be accessed here
