Gympie police are investigating the theft of a mechanical cow and tools from a shed on a large rural property near Goomeri last weekend.

At some time between between 5:30pm on Friday, April 22, and noon on Sunday, April 24, the thieves gained access to a workshop shed at the property on the Burnett Highway.

They stole welding equipment, a mechanical cow along with a bag containing all the ropes and cords for the device, and a Bosch battery drill.

Gympie police have advised that all power tools, hand tools and farm machinery should be marked with the owner’s name to prove ownership.

“We also encourage you to keep a record of identifying features, serial numbers and purchase details for insurance purposes and so that if property is located, it can be returned to its rightful owner,” Senior Constable Darren Hewitt said.
