The Bureau of Meteorology says flooding is easing throughout the Lower Burnett River catchment however small rises are possible with Thursday’s forecast rainfall.
A BOM spokesperson said no significant rainfall had been observed across the Burnett River catchment since Sunday.
However, rainfall and possible thunderstorm activity are forecast for Thursday.
“This may cause renewed river and creek level rises in parts of the catchment. The situation will be monitored closely,” the spokesperson said.
Minor flooding is easing at Glenmore on Barker Creek. There is minor flooding at Silverleaf Weir.
Barambah Creek at Stonelands is currently at 6.46m (below the minor flood level) and falling. It is expected to remain below the minor flood level (8.50m) for the remainder of Thursday.
Small renewed rises are possible from Friday with forecast rainfall but are expected to remain below the minor flood level.
Barambah Creek at Brian Pastures was last observed about 9:00am Wednesday at 4.50m (below the minor flood level) and falling slowly. It is expected to remain below the minor flood level (6.00m) during the remainder of Thursday. Small renewed rises are possible from Friday with forecast rainfall but are expected to remain below the minor flood level.

On Thursday morning, Sunwater warned that Boondooma Dam is now at 100.04 per cent capacity and has begun spilling excess water.
If downstream of the dam, residents can expect increased river flows.

At 4:00pm on Thursday, South Burnett Regional Council announced the good news that Krebs Bridge, on the Bunya Highway south of Murgon, is now open to all traffic.
Bells Bridge, on the Wide Bay Highway in the Gympie Regional Council area, is still closed.
UPDATE: Gympie Regional Council confirmed on Friday morning that Bells Bridge is now open.
