An appeal has been started to help a family whose home was destroyed by fire in Woolooga on Friday night.

The large house, near the corner of Bauple-Woolooga Road and Edwards Road, was well alight when fire crews were called just before 6:00pm.

Both urban and rural firefighters attended the blaze and had the flames under control by about 8:30pm, but there was little they could do to save the house or contents.

The fire was extinguished by 9:20pm.

Paramedics were also on standby but a QAS spokesperson said all occupants were safely evacuated and no one required treatment or transport.

  • A GoFundMe page has been set up to help raise funds to support the family.
