FLASHBACK: Richard O’Neill OAM, from the Creative Country Association, with the plans for the Fossil Museum in 2021 … construction of the building is now almost complete

January 25, 2022

Blackbutt Art Gallery and Murgon’s Creative Country Association have received grants under the Federal Government’s Culture, Heritage and Arts Regional Tourism (CHART) program.

Blackbutt Art Gallery received $1128 to replace inefficient lighting and save on energy costs.

The Creative Country Association, which is building the cultural centre and fossil museum in Macalister Street, Murgon, received $3000 to assist with the fitout for a mental health workshop.

The building is due to open in April and the grant will fund tables and chairs plus some art supplies.

Community-run arts, cultural and heritage organisations have been encouraged to apply for a CHART program grant.

Applications are open until April 29, or until allocated funding is expended.

The Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA) is delivering the program on behalf of the Federal Government.
