Fire crews were called to a small, smouldering fire in a sawdust bin at the Parkside Sawmill in Wondai on Thursday morning.
Two fire crews were initially despatched to the incident, in North Street, at 5:44am and were relieved by other crews across the morning.
A QFES spokesperson said sheets were removed from the bin to get access to the sawdust and wet it down.
The fire was under control by 11:40am and the incident was handed back to Parkside management at 12:15pm.
