Queensland Cricket will be running a free cricket program in Cherbourg during the school holidays for local children.

The aim is to introduce children aged 5-12 to Blast Cricket using Blast activities and modified games, inflatable nets and school holiday pack giveaways.

The days have been sponsored by Woolworths and will be run with assistance from local police and the Cherbourg Sports Complex.

The program is free for all participants.

There will be four sessions:

  • December 14 – 10:00am-noon
  • January 4 – 10:00am-noon
  • January 11 – times to be confirmed
  • January 18 – 10:00am-noon

Queensland Cricket is also running a Come & Try Day on Monday (December 6) from 3:30pm to 5:00pm at the Cherbourg Sports Complex.

This is free for children to get an idea of what Blast Cricket and the holiday program is all about.

Participants will receive a Blast shirt, and portions of the event will be filmed by Channel 7 to run during a segment about the Woolworths Community Fund that will be televised during the upcoming Ashes series.
