The Bureau of Meteorology has warned that minor to moderate flooding is continuing throughout the Burnett River catchment.

Rainfall of between 30-80mm was recorded across the catchment area in the 24 hours to 9:00am on Wednesday, with more showers and thunderstorms possible.

Minor flooding was occurring in the Burnett River to Mundubbera, although BOM said there were no current observations available.

Moderate flooding was continuing along Barkers Creek at Glenmore, with more creek level rises likely in the next few days.

Barambah Creek at Stonelands was at 3.80 metres and falling.

BOM said the creek levels at Stonelands were likely to remain below the minor flood level (8.50 metres) during the next few days.

The Burnett River at Gayndah was at 5.65 metres and steady. This was likely to remain above the minor flood level (5.00 metres) during Wednesday.

Dam Levels

  • Bjelke-Petersen Dam was at 54.55 per cent at 1:50pm on December 1 (6.52 per cent on November 1)
  • Boondooma Dam was at 58.66 per cent at 1:20pm on December 1 (24.24 per cent on November 1)
