Firefighters, police and ambulance paramedics were called to a fire in Gooyong Street on Wednesday

An alarm was raised after a neighbour spotted smoke billowing from a residence in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, on Wednesday afternoon.

A QFES spokesperson said three fire trucks and a senior officer were called to the incident at 5:23pm.

When they arrived, smoke was issuing from the building.

Two firefighters donned breathing apparatus to enter and locate the seat of the fire.

The flames were quickly extinguished, with the fire out by 5:37pm.

Police and ambulance paramedics also attended.

Fire investigators were still on the scene at 6:15pm.

UPDATE:  A 39-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with arson in relation to the incident.
