Toowoomba Regional Council has organised two workshops to explain what the upcoming COVID-19 restrictions mean for business owners.

To ensure the Toowoomba Region is prepared for December 17, Mayor Paul Antonio has encouraged business owners to participate in the “Managing New COVID-19 Restrictions For Businesses” workshops.

“When the new rules come into place, business owners and residents in the community will need to ensure they’re complying with the new restrictions,” Mayor Antonio said.

“Central to the changes are new restrictions for unvaccinated people which will impact businesses from a staffing perspective, as well as how they may need to interact with customers.

“The ‘Managing New COVID-19 Restrictions For Businesses’ workshops aim to provide businesses with information that will assist them in successfully navigating the new restrictions.

“We will also be recording the two sessions, particularly for our regional businesses, who may not be able to attend on the day.”

The one-hour workshops will be held at 3:00pm and 5:30pm on Wednesday, December 1, in the Darling Downs Room at the Oaks Toowoomba Hotel.

The workshops will also be livestreamed:

“This will be particularly useful for our community with the Queensland Small Business Commissioner coming along to speak about the impact of the new restrictions on businesses,” Mayor Antonio said.

“We will also have representatives from Queensland Police to speak about how the restrictions will be enforced and TAFE Queensland on strategies to manage difficult customers.

“This is a difficult time for many of our residents and the workshops are designed to make the transition as easy as possible for our business community.”
