Artist and graphic designer Rachael King will be coming to Blackbutt later this month to share her skills with local artists.

Rachael is being brought to the South Burnett as part of the “Spotlight on Blackbutt Arts” program being run by Bloomin’ Beautiful Blackbutt Festival Inc (the committee behind the Blackbutt Avocado Festival).

During the “Artwork to Product” workshop, participants will learn how to transform their original artworks into a range of products such as coffee mugs, drink bottles, stationery and even fashion.

Rachael has also authored “Patter Pulse: Exploring The Art Of Australian Surface Designers”, a compendium showcasing 100 of Australia’s most talented designers, the people who create the artwork on fashion items and everyday objects.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Rachael to the South Burnett to deliver this valuable professional development workshop,” Bloomin’ Beautiful arts project officer Olivia Everitt said.

“Helping local artists to gain the skills they need to showcase and sell their artwork is an important step in sharing and celebrating the fantastic artistic talent we have in this region.”

The “Artwork to Product” workshop will run from 9:30am to 12:30pm on Friday, November 26, at Blackbutt Memorial Hall.

Support from the South Burnett Regional Council’s Regional Arts Development Fund will enable this workshop to be free for participants to attend.

Registrations are essential and can be done online or by phoning 0432-556-830.
