More than 60 shooters took part in the recent South West Regional Championships at the South Burnett Pistol Club.

Shooters came from clubs across Queensland to take part in the ISSF-sanctioned event.

The three-day “Kingaroy Pistols & Peanuts” shoot also featured a day of black powder shooting on the Friday.

On the Saturday and Sunday, shooters took part in 10m, 25m and 50m competitions in various pistol categories.

A special guest was paralympian shooter Chris Pitt who shot in the World Shooting Para Sport (WSPS) category.

Top Australian shooter Bruce Dimond dominated the competition, taking out the A Grade 25m Standard and 25m Centrefire competitions and the B Grade 50m Pistol.

However, local competitors also did well, with club president Tony Rossi taking out the B Grade 25m Pistol, and other club members also finishing on the podium in various categories.
