The “Bush VaxBus” will be visiting South Burnett and Darling Downs communities during the first two weeks of November to provide an opportunity for more residents to receive a free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination.

The bus is initiative by the Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN to improve vaccine access to remote and rural communities, marginalised and vulnerable individuals, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living in the region.

The vaccination bus will be present at:

  • Kaimkillenbun – 35 to 45 Delacy Street – 8:30am to 12:30pm, November 8
  • Cooyar – Cooyar Memorial Park, McDougall Street – 1:30pm to 4:30pm, November 10
  • Yarraman – 7 Emmert Street – 8:30am to noon, November 11
  • Maidenwell – Pool Street Service Road – 1:30pm to 4:30pm, November 11
  • Wooroolin – Dalton Park – 8:30am to 10:30am, November 12
  • Tingoora – Sportsground, Charlestown Road – 1:00pm to 4:00pm, November 12
  • Proston – Blake Street (opposite Library) – 9:00am to noon, November 13

The walk-in hub can provide first or second doses of the Pfizer vaccine for anyone aged over 12.

The bus will be accompanied by a free sausage sizzle and giveaways.

A form of ID is required to receive a vaccination, this can be a Medicare Card, however if unable to provide a Medicare Card other forms of legal ID will be accepted, eg. driver’s licence, passport etc.
