A 51-year-old Proston man faces a string of charges after alleged incidents in Venman Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday night.

Police will allege the man entered two residences and a vehicle before stealing a Mitsubishi utility.

The ute was located later that morning at Kingaroy Shoppingworld.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with stealing a vehicle, three counts of unlawful entry of a vehicle and three counts of theft.

Seven people face various charges after their vehicles were pulled over by police during the past week:

  • At 4:00pm on Sunday,  police intercepted a 29-year-old Griffin woman driving a Holden sedan on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 13 charged with drug-driving and possessing a drug utensil.
  • At 4:50pm, police pulled over a 52-year-old Kingaroy woman driving a Nissan stationwagon at the same location. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on a drink-driving charge (0.072 BAC).
  • At 8:40pm, police intercepted a Mitsubishi sedan in Frangipani Street, Kingaroy. The vehicle was being driven by a 22-year-old Kingaroy man who was allegedly unlicensed. The vehicle was also found to be unregistered. A search of the vehicle allegedly located a small vial of liquid cannabis in the possession of the passenger, a 23-year-old Kingaroy man. Both men will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on December 13.  The vehicle was also immobilised for seven days.
  • On Friday, police intercepted a 31-year-old Kingaroy woman driving a Mitsubishi sedan on Fisher Street, Kingaroy.  She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with drug-driving.
  • On Thursday evening, police stopped a 34-year-old Wondai man driving a Focus hatchback on the D’Aguilar Highway at Coolabunia. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 29 charged with drug-driving.
  • At 12:50pm on Wednesday, police intercepted a 26-year-old Taromeo woman driving a Toyota hatchback on Knight Street, Kingaroy. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with drug-driving.

A 35-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with a public nuisance offence after an alleged incident at a Haly Street hotel at 1:20am on Saturday morning. 

When police arrived at 1:20am,  they found the man being restrained by friends after a physical confrontation. Police will allege he continued to behave aggressively, so he was arrested.

Emergency services were called to a truck fire on the Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road at 7:00pm on Friday.

Investigations identified there were no suspicious circumstances – the cause of the fire is believed to an electrical fault.

The cab of the Isuzu truck was destroyed. The driver, a 75-year-old Kingaroy man, was uninjured.

Police were called to an alleged disturbance at a house in William Street, Kingaroy, at 11:45pm on Friday.

A 25-year-old Kingaroy man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on November 15 charged with possessing a dangerous drug (cannabis) and drug utensils.

Between October 17-18, thieves stole a box trailer (registration EFO-772) from an address in Tessmanns Road, Kingaroy.

The front and rear registration plates (945-VWV) were also stolen from a  Toyota sedan at the same address. Investigations are continuing.

On October 15, police stopped a pedestrian in Lamb Street, Murgon, about 11:30pm.

During a pat-down search, police allegedly located cannabis. A 21-year-old Murgon man will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 26.

About midnight on October 8, a teenager entered a house in Middle Road, Proston, and allegedly took an iPad and laptop from one of the rooms. 

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with burglary, possess a drug utensil and obstruct police officer. He will appear in Murgon Children’s Court.

Between 1:40pm and 3:30pm on October 4, thieves stole two tricycles from a house in Fisher Street, Cherbourg. Investigations are continuing.

About 6:50pm on October 5, police searched a house in Webster Street, Murgon.

A 36-year-old Kingaroy man has been charged with possessing drugs and a drug utensil.  A 46-year-old Murgon man has been charged with possessing a drug utensil. Both are due to appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 26.

A 2:55am on October 3, police intercepted a vehicle for the purpose of a RBT in Baynes Street, Wondai. 

Police will allege the driver recorded 0.224 BAC.  A 22-year-old Wondai woman will appear in Murgon Magistrates Court on October 26 charged with drink-driving.
