A person has been transported to Kingaroy hospital after the car they were driving crashed on Saturday afternoon and caught fire.

Police said the car appeared to have hit a side wall on a bend of the Blackbutt Range on the D’Aguilar Highway, north of Moore.

Emergency services were called to the incident  at 3:23pm.

They found the vehicle had caught fire and had also ignited a small patch of grass nearby.

Police had to briefly close one lane of the highway while QFES personnel doused the flames.

The driver was transported in a stable condition, and the vehicle was removed by a tow truck.
