Queensland Health will declare all southern Tasmania a COVID-19 hotspot after that State entered a three-day lockdown.

From 1:00am on Sunday (October 17), southern Tasmanian local government areas will be declared hotspots.

Anyone arriving into Queensland from these council areas after this time will need to go into hotel quarantine.

Any Queenslanders who have already arrived or who are arriving before 1:00am on Sunday should monitor their health and get tested immediately if they experience any symptoms.

UPDATE October 18:  The Chief Health Officer will no longer declare Tasmania as a hotspot as of 1:00am on Tuesday (October 19).

This means Queenslanders will be able to travel from Tasmania into Queensland, without needing to quarantine after 1:00am.

This also means that anyone currently in quarantine that arrived from Tasmania after it was declared a hotspot, will be able to leave quarantine.
