Reginald Wenham hit two boundaries for Wooroolin Warriors last Saturday

Wooroolin Warriors proved too strong for Gympie Harlequins in their A Grade cricket match played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy on Saturday.

Warriors won the toss and elected to bat.

At the end of their 40 overs, Warriors were 9/239 with Fletcher Brown not out 57.

Lleyton Brown (53) and Michael Wostear (45) also added to the total.

In reply, Harlequins were 6/187 at the end of their overs.

Chris Bunker (2/20 off eight overs) and Michael Wostear (2/29 off 7.5) were the best of the Wooroolin bowlers.

Warriors will be back in action this weekend at Lyle Vidler, this time facing Gympie Valleys.

Murgon missed out by just 12 runs in a tight game against Gympie Valleys, played at Spencer Oval in Gympie.

Valleys won the toss and batted first, finishing with 204 at the end of their 40 overs for the loss of three wickets.

Garry Eisenmenger (2/44 off eight overs) and Ashley Sippel (1/26 off seven) took the wickets.

In reply, Murgon were all out for 192 in the 37th over.

Nathan Roderick (46) and Ashley Sippel (38) were best with the bat.

Murgon will be playing at home this weekend, taking on Gympie Colts at Murgon Sportsground.

Both the South Burnett Senior and Junior competitions will get under way on October 9.

Trials for the Under 14s South Burnett team will be held from 4:00pm this Friday (October 1) at the Alan Downie Fields in Burnett Street, Nanango.

The trials are for all eligible players born between the September 1, 2007, to August 31, 2009.

South Burnett players will be action again on Sunday for Wide Bay in Round 4 of the Lord Taverners Under 16s competition.

The match, against University, will be played at St Lucia in Brisbane.
