A program aimed at creating positive change in the community will be launching in Nanango next month.

Three “wellbeing” workshops have been scheduled by the Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA) at the Old Masonic Lodge in Gipps Street, Nanango.

The first two will be held from 9:30am to 11:30am on Tuesday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 12.

The third will be an evening event, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Monday, October 18.

The workshops will be presented by Bunyarra Counselling and Mediation, the same group which has been working with the Kingaroy Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s SMILE program with Kingaroy businesses.

“This program is to create hope, it is to create change, it is to build resilience, and to ultimately and proactively to save lives,” a spokesperson said.

“As a community we are strong. As a community we can make a difference.”

The Nanango Community Wellbeing Initiative is being sponsored by Heritage Nanango Community Fund.

Footnote: The workshops were originally planned to be held in September.
