A fire which razed a home at Chelmsford on Tuesday is not being treated as suspicious.

Six fire crews were called to the blaze, on Weirs Road, at 2:53pm and arrived within minutes.

A QFES spokesperson said they found the single-story building alight.

They trained hoses on the flames but could not stop the structure from collapsing about 30 minutes later.

Fire crews had the blaze extinguished by 4:30pm but remained on site dampening down until about 6:30pm.

The home – and all the family’s possessions – were completely destroyed.

The QFES spokesperson said because of the amount of damage, the cause of the fire was not able to be determined but there were no suspicious circumstances.

No one was injured in the incident.
