A young boy has been airlifted to hospital after a quad bike rolled on a private property in the South Burnett on Saturday morning.

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the quad bike was believed to have rolled over the toddler’s abdomen during the crash.

The spokesperson said the boy was riding on the machine with his father, who reportedly swerved to avoid a snake and then lost control of the vehicle.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated boy at the scene, before transferring him to the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter, which despatched about 11:00am.

The toddler, accompanied by his father, was flown in a stable condition to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane for further diagnosis and treatment.
