Two South Burnett childcare centres in the Maranoa electorate have received funding under Round 3 of the Federal Government’s Community Child Care Fund.

Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said PCYC South Burnett – Taabinga School Age Care in Kingaroy, and PCYC Nanango Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) had been supported.

The fund gives eligible childcare services funding to help them stay open and increase the number of children from disadvantaged or vulnerable families and communities in care.

“This funding will help local child care services improve access to quality care,” Mr Littleproud said.

“It will be good for our local kids, good for our hard-working families and ultimately for our community. It will also have a positive economic benefit by allowing more local parents to get back into work or to take on additional hours if they chose.”

The Federal Government received 1194 applications from 962 child care services across Australia under Round 3 of the program.

A total of 716 applications were successful.
