Five drivers have been charged with drug-driving offences  – including a woman with small children in her car – after Road Policing Unit operations at the weekend.

Senior Constable Jade Miller, from the Dalby Road Policing Unit (Kingaroy), said the 28-year-old Nanango woman was pulled over for testing in Scott Street, Benarkin, on Saturday afternoon.

The woman has also been charged with obstructing police and her driving licence was immediately suspended.

She is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on August 12.

Other people charged at the weekend:

  • A 36-year-old Blackbutt woman driving on Coulson Street, Blackbutt, on Saturday afternoon. She is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on September 16.
  • A 48-year-old Nukku man driving on the D’Aguilar Highway, Blackbutt, on Saturday afternoon. He is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on August 12.
  • A 21-year-old Yarraman man driving on the D’Aguilar Highway, Blackbutt, on Saturday afternoon. He is due to appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on August 12.
  • A 24-year-old Ellesmere man driving on Albert Street, Kingaroy, on Sunday afternoon. He is due to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on August 30.
