A young girl was flown to hospital after a quadbike crashed on a private property in the Widgee area on Thursday afternoon.

The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter was despatched just after 3:30pm and was able to land nearby in a paddock.

A LifeFlight spokesperson said the helicopter’s medical crew worked with QAS paramedics to treat the primary school-aged rider for facial injuries.

She was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The Land Rover LifeFlight Special Mission helicopter is temporarily based on the Sunshine Coast.

A man, aged in his 20s, was transported by ambulance to Gympie Hospital after a single-vehicle crash near Woolooga on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to the incident, on Brooweena-Woolooga Road, just after 8:00pm.

The man’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.

The man was transported in a stable condition with neck, chest and back pain.
