Agents yarded 800 in Murgon at the fortnightly combined agents sale on Tuesday (June 22).

Values remained reasonably firm throughout.

Approximately 180 Export cattle were yarded with the balance being store types.

Cattle were drawn from Mundubbera, Gayndah, Mt Perry, Durong, Kingaroy, Yarraman, Kilkivan and the Murgon area.

Saled results:

  • Bulls sold to $3.00/kg and $2340
  • Bullocks topped at $3.60 for $2250
  • Heavy Cows over 500kg sold to $3.05/kg and $2210 for an average of $2.86/kg
  • Cows 400-500kg sold to $2.98/kg, averaging $2.79
  • Fresher conditioned cows under 400kg were short in numbers, selling to $2.55/kg
  • Export heifers topped at $3.60/kg and $1940
  • Local Santa steers weighing 493kg sold to $4.08/kg for $2015
  • 425kg Murray Grey steers from Byee sold for $1688 and $3.97/kg
  • Santa steers with a weight of 452kg sold for $3.95/kg, returning $1788
  • Four and six-tooth Gelbvieh steers from Johnstown sold for $1782 at $3.91/kg
  • Two pens of Droughtmaster cross steers from Cushnie sold for $1498 ($4.86/kg) and $1615 ($4.52/kg)
  • 316kg Droughtmaster steers from Murgon sold for $4.59/kg, returning $1452
  • 350kg Droughtmaster steers from Goomeri sold for $1594 at $4.50/kg
  • Red Angus weaner steers from Tansey sold for $1393 at $4.40/kg
  • Angus weaner steers sold to $5.30/kg, returning $1343
  • Local Santa weaner steers sold for $1310 at $5.24/kg
  • Limousin weaner steers from Moondooner sold for $5.20/kg and $1330
  • Droughtmaster weaner steers from Goomeri sold $5.46/kg and $1046
  • Droughtmaster cross heifers from Goomeri sold for $1525 and $3.80/kg
  • Local Brangus heifers sold for $3.77/kg to return $1600
  • Charbray heifers from Hivesville weighing 343kg sold for $1442 and $4.20/kg
  • Charolais heifers from Moffatdale sold for $1355 at $4.20/kg
  • Hereford cross heifers from Cinnabar sold for $1578 at $4.16/kg
  • Charbray weaner heifers from Cloyna sold for $1146 and $5.01/kg
  • Angus weaner heifers sold for $1009 at $4.92/kg
  • Local Droughtmaster cross weaner heifers sold to $4.74/kg to return $1210
  • Brahman cross Cows & Calves sold to $2250 4 month plus PTIC
  • Droughtmaster heifers sold to $2050
