South Burnett Regional Council began work on Monday on upgrades to the pedestrian crossings near Murgon State High School.

New pedestrian crossings are being created in Dutton Street East and Gore Street, as well as the construction of concrete traffic islands.

The work, which coincides which major construction works at the school by Education Queensland, has been funded through the School Transport Infrastructure Program and Council’s 2020-21 capital works program.

It is due to be completed in about two weeks, weather and other external constraints permitting.
