A man has been flown to hospital in a critical condition after being trampled by a heifer near Goomeri on Tuesday morning.

Emergency services were called to the property at 7:46am.

A QAS spokesperson said paramedics treated the man, aged in his 60s, for serious head, chest and abdominal injuries.

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight helicopter was called to the incident and landed nearby.

The man was flown to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

He travelled under the care of a LifeFlight critical care doctor and a QAS flight paramedic.
