The D’Aguilar Highway is known as Toomey Street as it passes through Yarraman … planned upgrades could narrow the width of the pavement

April 27, 2021

A planned upgrade to Toomey Street in Yarraman could mean the loss of between three and five car parking spaces.

The project, by the Department of Transport and Main Roads, aims to improve safety by reducing the speed of vehicles travelling through town.

It includes installing concrete kerb extensions, new line marking and road signs.

The width of the road will also be reduced in a bid to make it safer for both pedestrians and motorists.

DTMR plans to consult with local businesses and the community before work begins.
