Rugby league fans are in for a treat this Saturday at T.J. O’Neill Oval in Kingaroy with South Burnett players in action in two QRL State competition games.

Wide Bay Bulls teams are taking part in the QRL’s Under 16s Cyril Connell Challenge and the Under 18s Mal Meninga Cup this year – providing a pathway for young South Burnett players to compete at a higher level in rugby league.

The Round 5 Cyril Connell Challenge game, between the Bulls and Sunshine Coast Falcons, will kick off at 2:00pm.

In the team list for the Bulls are South Burnett players Joseph Meikle, Fletch Prendergast, Tyrell Hopkins and Chill Pidgeon.

At 3:00pm, the Bulls will take on the Falcons in a Round 5 Mal Meninga Cup game.

Playing for the Bulls will be locals Cody Gale, Lachlan Zelinski and Chris Kerkow.

The two State games will be followed by a double header under lights in the local A Grade competition.

At 5:00pm, the Kingaroy Red Ants will face the Wondai Wolves, followed at 6:30pm by the clash between the undefeated Nanango Stags and Murgon Mustangs.
