A 56-year-old Murgon woman was transported to Kingaroy Hospital after a collision between a Toyota sedan and a Triumph motorbike just outside Kingaroy on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of the Bunya Highway and Taylors Road at 7:10am.

QAS paramedics treated the female rider of the motorbike – which had been travelling on the highway – at the scene before transporting her to hospital in a stable condition with pelvic and abdominal injuries. She was later airlifted to a Brisbane hospital for further treatment.

A police spokesperson said the Toyota, driven by a 23-year-old Kingaroy man, had stopped at the intersection for an oncoming vehicle but then pulled out on to the highway with the intention of turning right, into the path of the motorbike.

Investigations are continuing.
