Eight people – including six children – were transported to hospital for assessment after a rollover near Wooroolin on Friday night.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the Bunya Highway just before 10:00pm.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney said the Toyota failed to negotiate a bend, hit a guard post and flipped on to its driver’s side

QAS paramedics assessed two adults and six children at scene.

Snr Sgt Tierney said the driver, a 29-year-old Kingaroy woman, had told police she was travelling towards Kingaroy when she had to look back at her children.

“When she looked back at the road, she hit a guide post and lost control then the car flipped,” Snr Sgt Tierney said.

The patients were transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries.

The vehicle was moderately damaged.

Investigations are continuing.
