Fall Armyworm

On March 1, a meeting to discuss Fall Armyworm (FAW) will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the DAF Kingaroy Research Station (opposite Kingaroy Airport) on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road.

The free event will be an opportunity for growers to look at current strategies for FAW management and hear the latest updates about the crop pest.

The get-together will be held in the open air for COVID safety, so growers are urged to BYO chair, hat and water bottle.

The meeting will examine the impact current strategies are having on FAW management.

Speakers will also discuss opportunities for regional collaboration in coming growing seasons.

Lunch will be provided following the meeting.

Hands-On Precision Agriculture Training

The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is holding a six-hour, hands-on Precision Agriculture Training workshop from 9:00am at Kumbia on March 12.

The free workshop, to be run by Tim Neale from Data Farming, will discuss producer case studies and tips and tricks, as well as an explanation of the terminology surrounding the hardware and software.

The GRDC says the workshop is suitable for farmers in the early stages of their “PA journey”, although everyone is welcome.
