Jocelyn Clancy is currently sporting purple locks to raise awareness about the Australian Cancer Research Foundation’s “Hair Dare” fundraising challenge

Kingaroy resident Jocelyn Clancy is taking on a “hair dare” to help raise funds for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.

Jocelyn works as an Indigenous Liaison Officer with Queensland Health.

Cancer has touched her family and friends, and she has also seen the effects in her role at Kingaroy Hospital.

She has a fundraising page set up online with a target of $1000, and is already well on her way with more than $780 raised by Friday.

However, she’s keen to raise more if she can – which is why she’s currently sporting coloured hair to help spark a conversation.

Jocelyn will be having her locks shaved off at Kingaroy Shoppingworld on March 13.

This is the first time Jocelyn has done anything like this.

“If it goes over $1000, that would be fantastic!” Jocelyn said.
