Nanango Theatre Company will be hosting workshops for actors and directors later this month

Nanango Theatre Company is calling on aspiring local actors and directors to take part in a two-day workshop later this month.

The workshop, to be held at the Nanango Theatre Company’s venue on the corner of George and Elk streets on February 27-28, will be guided by Mark and Shirley Lucas from Excalibur Theatre Company at Caboolture.

The first day will focus on acting and stagecraft, while the second will cover acting skills for novices and directing activities for more experienced attendees.

The workshops are limited to 20 each day.

Cost is $20 per day but bookings must be made in advance.

Nanango Theatre Company also has some exciting news for lovers of live theatre later in the year …

The group has announced that the inaugural Heritage NananGO PLAYfest will be held in Nanango on August 6-8 as part of the South-East Queensland Drama Festival circuit.

Heritage Community Branch Nanango has come on board as sponsors, which means there is $2500 in prizes to lure the best plays to the event.

There will be a $1000 cash prize for the best play, which will be judged by external adjudicators.

The plays will be performed at the Nanango Cultural Centre.
