A man has been charged with possessing illegal fireworks after an incident in Kingaroy on Saturday evening.
About 7:00pm, firefighters were called to Oasis Drive after a fire was reported in a vacant block.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Dave Tierney, said investigations identified a 33-year-old Kingaroy man had allegedly been using fireworks when one landed in the vacant block, sparking a fire that damaged a fence.
He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 4 charged with unlawfully possessing explosives (fireworks), unlawfully using explosives and endangering property by fire.
