Residents in the Knight Street area of Kingaroy lost power on Monday afternoon a car slammed into a power pole near the intersection with Walter Road.

Ergon isolated power from a number of poles while emergency repairs were made.

About 19 customers lost power about 4:30pm while Ergon crews worked to replace the damaged pole.

The repairs were expected to take about two hours.

Police and emergency services attended the crash but a police spokesperson said no one was injured.

The badly damaged Ford Falcon sedan was hauled away on the back of a tow truck.

The 24-year-old Kingaroy driver allegedly told police he had just turned from Somerset Street when the steering pulled sharply, causing the vehicle to mount the gutter and hit the pole.

Investigations are continuing.
