Crawford State School P&C Association is pinning “pig” hopes on its annual Ham and Roast Pork Drive.

This is the third year the tiny school’s P&C has organised the fundraiser in the lead-up to Christmas, and president Trudy Obst is hoping the wider community will get behind the effort.

“We are one of the smallest schools in the South Burnett and find it hard to get parent helpers at fundraising events,” Trudy said.

“Our annual Ham & Roast Pork Drive is one of our biggest fundraisers that does not take a lot of time out of parents’ busy schedules and still assists us in raising funds.”

Money raised will go towards expanding facilities at the school.

“This will allow for more play-based learning for younger students, whilst also enabling our teacher-driven playgroup (beginning next year) to provide parents and children with a connection to our school before Prep begins,” Trudy said.

The P&C wanted to thank SunPork Fresh Foods and Swickers for their support.

“We are proud to acknowledge their ongoing assistance and encouragement,” Trudy said.

“The SunPork hams are boned, rolled shoulder roasts and are sold per kilo, so you only pay for the amount you receive.

“Customers know that not only are they buying Australian pork, processed locally, but they are also supporting our small school.

“Who could think of a better way of sitting down to the Christmas table knowing you have supported Aussie farmers, Aussie owned local manufacturers and tour local small school?”
