Students from three South Burnett schools will be performing their own compositions as the “warm-up” act for Topology’s upcoming Wondai concert.

The students, from Moffatdale, Windera and Cloyna State schools, recently completed ukelele and music composition workshops under the guidance of musicians from the Topology quintet.

Topology will be playing at the Wondai Memorial Hall on Friday, November 13, as part of a nine-stop regional tour to promote their 16th album, “We Will Rise”.

Topology composer and soloist John Babbage (saxophone) said he was excited to be touring again and working with schools and communities in regional Queensland.

“It’s been fun selecting the repertoire for our latest EP, looking back through 23 years of music,” he said.

“The hardest choice has been what not to play.

“Topology will be showcasing a diverse range of compositions from 1999 to a brand-new work written this year.”

Tickets for the Wondai concert are limited due to COVID-19 restrictions but can be booked online
