Schools throughout the South Burnett have been celebrating Book Week this week with plenty of colourful characters coming to life off the pages of children’s books and movies.

It was the turn of St Mary’s Catholic College on Friday with students from Prep to Grade 6 turning out in quirky costumes at the morning school parade.

There were pirates, princesses, firemen and even a few super heroes.

Prizes were given for the best costumes in each year.

The teachers also joined in the fun … with a whole bunch of Wild Thornberrys making an appearance!
