Thirty-nine events – with racing in five categories – will kick off the 2020-21 Kingaroy Speedway season at the showgrounds track on Saturday night.

A strong line-up of Modified Sedans will be in action with 26 drivers nominating, including former national champions Aidan Raymont, Brett Baxter and Greg Worling and former State champions Brodie Boss and Shane MacDonald.

Twenty-eight drivers – including current Australia champion Joel Berkley – will hit the track in the Production Sedans, eager to have a run on the showgrounds track ahead of the National Titles which Kingaroy will host at Easter.

Round 1 of the Edge Automotive & Performance Street Stock series will feature 19 racers, including Peter Thompson, Nathan Barbeler, Josh Harm and Ben Stead.

National 4s are returning with a field of 13 including current Queensland champion Tim Weir.

There’ll also be Junior Sedan excitement with both top stars and new stars in action in the SSA Allstar series.

Gates will open at 2:00pm with racing from 5:00pm.

Tickets will be available at the gate however COVID-19 safety measures means there will be some changes for spectators.

Gate B, located near the Pony Club end of the Showgrounds, WILL NOT be open.

Gate A, near the main canteen/tower, and Gate C, behind the Snack Shack, will be the only general admission entry points.

The EVA Check-in app (download from the App Store or Play Store) will be used for COVID data.

A QR code will be supplied at the ticket window to scan with a phone camera.

Manual check-in will be available for people without a mobile phone.
