The South Burnett Regional Council’s multi-month upgrade of the Alford Street car park in Kingaroy has been completed and the car park has been reopened.

The car park – located behind the Commonwealth and NAB banks – was funded from a $600,000 allocation in Council’s 2019-2020 Capital Works budget.

The project included a new bitumen seal, line marking, provision of disabled parking spaces and caravan access, and upgrades to stormwater systems and landscaping.

The work also included the provision for future electric vehicle charge stations.

Although the car park has been reopened for use, Council still has outstanding works to complete.

These include the installation of a dump-point, more landscaping and signs, and completing the new street lights.
