Kingaroy residents were concerned when they found the doors to the town’s ANZ Bank branch closed last week.
Would-be customers were greeted with a sign reading “closed until further notice”.
Some feared the branch might be closing for good, especially after the shutdown of ANZ branches elsewhere in Queensland this year, including at Kilcoy and Beenleigh.
An ANZ spokesperson told southburnett.com.au the Kingaroy branch had been closed for a few days last week “due to an expected staff absence”.
“However, it reopened on Friday and is expected to be open all this week as normal,” he said.
Good riddance. Shuts for lunch, dirty ATM screen, no shade to view the dirty screen, no verandah when it’s raining. Adios.
