A driver – allegedly three times over the legal limit – has been fined for speeding on the Wide Bay Highway near Woolooga.

Goomeri Police were conducting mobile patrols along the highway about 2:10pm on Wednesday when they pulled over a vehicle.

It is alleged the driver, a 33-year-old Gympie man, was travelling at 154km/h in a 100km/h zone.

He was then given a roadside breath test where he allegedly blew 0.15 BAC.

The man has been charged with drink driving and will appear in Gympie Magistrates Court on October 1.

He also received a $1245 speeding fine and lost six demerit points for travelling at more than 40km/h over the speed limit.
