Nanango Race Club will be holding its August Race Meeting at the Lee Park Racecourse on Saturday.

This will be the first race meeting held in the South Burnett since February when pandemic restrictions began to apply, and guests will be asked to comply with COVID-19 restrictions.

These will include a different servery area for food and drinks; lawn seating rather than undercover seating; registering your contact details at the ticket office; and maintaining correct social distancing on course.

The August meeting’s feature race is usually the Nanango Cup, but this year the Cup has been postponed to the club’s next meeting in September.

However, other aspects of the Cup meeting – such as the annual Blessing Of The Jockeys ceremony before the first race – will be observed as usual, and the winners of Nanango Race Club’s 2019-20 Premierships will also be announced.

The meeting will offer guests an on-course TAB, live telecasts of interstate races, an undercover betting ring, barbecue and bar, and the Champagne@TheBit Cocktail Bar.

Buses will be leaving Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at 12:00 noon and the Fitzroy Hotel at 12:30pm.

Gates will open about 11:00am and Race 1 will leave the barriers at 1:25pm.
