Taromeo rural fire brigade is one of the South Burnett units which will benefit thanks to generous donations from the public during the past fire season

South Burnett rural fire brigades will benefit from some of the $3.1 million donated by the public to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services during the 2019-20 bushfire season.

A QFES spokesperson said the Rural Fire Service had purchased the following equipment after Burnett Area brigade requests:

  • Brooklands RFB  – Water tank
  • Booie Rise RFB – Solar System and Security System
  • Glencoe RFB – Water Tank
  • Taromeo RFB  – Solar System

As well, the Bunya Mountains Rural Fire Brigade received $6264 in cash donations, paid directly to the brigade.

The spokesperson said 29 fire mapping tablets have also been ordered from the donations for each truck brigade in the Burnett area (yet to be supplied).
