Three people were lucky to escape serious injury when two 4WDs collided just outside Kingaroy on Tuesday evening.

A LandRover Discovery and a Toyota LandCruiser trayback collided at the intersection of Edenvale South Road and Peterson Drive at Taabinga.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were called about 5:15pm.

Both vehicles rolled with the LandRover ending up on its side and the trayback on its roof.

The two occupants in the trayback managed to extricate themselves from the wreck.

The driver of the LandRover,  a 68-year-old Booie man, escaped with cuts and bruises and was transported to Kingaroy Hospital in a stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old Taabinga man, suffered no reported injuries.

The 68-year-old man was issued with an infringement notice for failing to give way ($400).
