An ambulance was involved in a collision at a major Kingaroy intersection while on its way to another traffic crash on Thursday morning.

A QAS spokesperson said the ambulance had been despatched from the Kingaroy station in Kent Street to attend a two-vehicle crash in Alford Street, reported at 9:26am.

As it was on its way to this incident, the ambulance – with its lights flashing – collided with a silver Holden Astra stationwagon at the traffic lights on the corner of Youngman and Haly streets.

Emergency services were called to the Youngman Street crash, and another ambulance was despatched to the Alford Street incident.

Fortunately no one was seriously injured in either crash, and no one required transport to hospital.

Both the ambulance and the Holden stationwagon were badly damaged.
