The South Burnett Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) has lowered its readiness status in line with the State Government’s relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.

The group held its fortnightly meeting on Tuesday (June 2) where it reviewed the accelerated introduction of Stage 2 of the State Government’s “Roadmap to Recovery”.

South Burnett LDMG chair Cr Roz Frohloff said that as a result of the amendment to restrictions, the LDMG would reduce its status back to “Alert” from “Stand Up”.

“Key agencies within the LDMG will continue to meet on a regular basis to ensure the group remains aware and prepared should there be any further cases of COVID-19 within the South Burnett,” Cr Frohloff said.

“In addition, the Human & Social and Economic Sub-Group will remain engaged with the South Burnett Local Disaster Recovery Group to officially move to ‘Lean Forward’, and continue to assist with the co-ordination and communications for community recovery as required.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the agencies involved with this latest LDMG operation, and in particular, thank the community for their patience and cooperation during these trying times.”
